For as long as I can remember, I’ve been inviting friends to church with me. Not because I wanted them to believe what I believe, simply because I wanted my friends to know me.
Church was the center of life for my family. It wasn’t uncommon that we’d be at a church service or event three to five times a week. We lived and breathed church. All I hoped for was my friend’s understanding and acceptance; I didn’t want or need them to conform.
It’s simple, really. You live your life as an example of what God is doing, and has done, in you. You don’t shove your beliefs down your friend’s throats and you do not respond to their difference of opinion with a self-righteous spirit. You love as Jesus loved.
We do not have control in changing hearts. Only God does.
